Josh Asokan | Director

Josh Asokan is the founder and Director of Odyssey Ensemble. He is also a former refugee law practitioner, orchestral conductor, concert pianist and public speaker. As a Law Society–accredited practitioner, he represented unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in their asylum claims and complex appeals involving trafficking and modern slavery. He is regularly invited to speak on refugee law and policy in a variety of contexts, from BBC radio interviews and podcasts to panel discussions.

As a professional musician, Josh has performed across four continents. In the UK, he has conducted at venues including Cadogan Hall, St John’s Smith Square and Kings Place, and his repertoire as a piano soloist includes concertos by Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Grieg and Mendelssohn. Josh has been endorsed by Arts Council England as an emerging leader in the UK music industry.
